Review | Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Charging Serum [AD – Gifted]

Two of Klairs’ most sold products are their Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop and Freshly Juiced Vitamin E Mask, and now Klairs has developed another product as part of their Freshly Juiced Vitamin line which launches on the Wishtrend website today. The new product is Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Charging Serum which contains a Vitamin C derivative and Niacinamide to bring radiance to the skin. Wishtrend kindly gifted the serum to me in exchange for an honest review, so I’ll first share some general information about it and then write about my experience with it so far.

Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Charging Serum

Description

Powerful brightening with Dual Brightening Formula: This Vitamin C Serum contains 10% 3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C derivative) and Niacinamide which are powerful ingredients that improve overall skin tone and pigmentation (melasma, blemish, freckles) and brighten and boost radiance. 3-O-ethyl ascorbic acid is a more stable derivative of pure Vitamin C that is soluble in both water and oil, and has brightening and anti-aging qualities. Oxidizes slowly and has the same rejuvenating effect, 3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid has anti-aging benefits as pure as Vitamin C since it shares a very similar carbon structure. Niacinamide is a derivative of Vitamin B3 that is well-known for its ability to give hydration and brighten skin by disrupting melanin creation.

Key Benefits: Fine line improvement, skin tightness improvement, skin smoothness improvement

Klairs has tested the “Triple skin tone (brightness, yellowness, uniformity) Test” and it resulted in a highly beneficial effect for the skin tone.
-9.7% improvement in skin tone uniformity
-12.4% improvement in pigmentation (melasma, blemish, freckle)
-1.2% improvement in skin tone brightness.

Packed with 5 actives and antioxidants for bouncy, firm skin: Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Charging Serum contains a mix of vitamins (C, E, B3, B5) and madecassoside (Centella Asiatica) to target early signs of aging such as dull, uneven skin tone, loss of firmness, and fine lines.

Lightweight but Hydrating Formula: The quick absorption of the serum and effective hydration will result in plumped, nourished skin. Experience more than 20% improvement in skin hydration only after 2 weeks of use!

EAAsy = Ethyl Ascorbic Acid is Easy As ABC: Vitamin C derivative that is easy to use, day and night. No warmth or flaring that some experience with Pure Vitamin C. No Steely, irony scent. Non-oily formula. Doesn’t peel and sits comfortably with makeup.

How to use:
While the skin is still slightly damp from your cleanser, apply 1-2 pumps to the face. Follow up with your favorite serum and moisturizer.

They’ve stated that this Vitamin C derivative takes longer to oxidize than pure Vitamin C and having it contained within an opaque airless pump can also help towards that. The outer packaging and bottle both have an eye-catching aurora-like holographic glow that shines silver, pink, purple, green, yellow and blue when moved around in the sunlight.

My Experience

When I got the news from Wishtrend that a new Klairs vitamin based product is being launched I was really excited and jumped at the opportunity to try it. I was very much intrigued by the mix of vitamin C, E, B3, B5 + madecassoside, out of which the main key ingredients 10% 3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid (vitamin C) and Niacinamide (vitamin B3) peaked my interest most for their benefits as I often experience dullness, post inflammatory hyperpigmentation, breakouts, as well as have some fine lines and loss of elasticity that the ingredients are known to help.

I’ve been using the Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Charging Serum everyday since I got it and so far I’ve experienced a clear brightness from it and none of the other effects, however I know I will need to use it consistently for a longer period of time to gain the other well-ageing benefits. Still, brightening is something I always look for in products so I’m happy I at least experience that quite quickly.

Although it says to apply 1-2 pumps, on my combination skin, I can apply 2-3 pumps because my skin just drinks it up, however, I apply each pump layer by layer allowing it to absorb fully before the next. I did try to apply 3 pumps all together on one occasion and it still absorbed quickly without leaving a tacky residue.

Upon application, it seems like it could be a viscous serum but it ends up being a lot more light weight and watery and feels like a burst of hydration on the skin that absorbs really quickly. It does still have a slight slip to it so it is easy to spread over the entire face. I was actually really pleasantly surprised by how lightweight and quick absorbing the formula is and how gentle it feels on my skin. It never feels tacky and just leaves my skin comfortable and plump with hydration.

The Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Charging Serum is a lot more pleasant to use than some high percentage pure Ascorbic Acid products, as I found it doesn’t sting, tingle, stain or have a nasty lingering metallic scent. This plus the texture and the potential benefits is more than enough for me to want to use it regularly in my skincare routine. I’ll update this post in future with long term results once I’ve used it for a longer period of time.

I’d recommend the Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Charging Serum to all skin types.
