Runway report: Chanel Fall/Winter 2020/21 Ready-to-Wear collection

In a first for the House, the Chanel Fall/Winter 2020/21 runway show was broadcasted live from Paris on its official platforms. The show was a breath of fresh air, where models walked out nonchalantly sometimes in pairs or groups. “Movement, air… For the runway show, no frame. I don’t like framing,” shared Virginie Viard, Chanel’s creative director.

The collection served, surprisingly, almost no dresses. What it did showcase, was plenty of black and white, touches of pale green and the emblematic Chanel pink. “For the first time there are press studs on the suits for a more lively gesture,” continues Viard. “I love Chanel so much, this collection could only be a new ode.”

Down to details like loud statement necklaces and chains, the Fall/Winter 2020/21 ready-to-wear collection was classic Chanel, from its genesis at 31 rue Cambon to Virginie Viard’s desire for the absolute. Check out looks from backstage to the runway and front row:
