The Supplier Quality Engineer will be responsible for the industrialization of products from sourcing phase through PPAP approval and will manage a portfolio of suppliers within the Powertrain segment.
Ideal of Qualifications for the Supplier Quality Engineer include:
- 3+ years supplier quality assurance experience
- Casting/Machining segment experience
- Proven experience in APQP/PPAP
- Continuous improvement experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field is an
- Automotive underbody experience a plus
- Quality experience in a automotive manufacturing environment required
Responsibilities for the Supplier Quality Engineer include:
- Perform supplier auditing and quality assurance activities
- Perform quality assurance activities of purchased items within project phase
- Asist supplier to define and establish processes that can deliver parts according to the agreed specifications
- Be responsible for the industrialization of products from sourcing phase through PPAP approval, tracking/monitoring the APQP process
- Manage a portfolio of suppliers, including travel approximately 50-75%
- Participate and contribute during design and technical specification and manufacturing feasibility reviews with suppliers
- Review tool design practices with suppliers, providing input as needed
