The candidate must reside in or relocate within 50 MILES of a Blue Origin Site Location.

As part of a diverse and hardworking team of experts, you will develop and execute supplier quality processes for the design, test and manufacture of launch vehicles, spacecraft and related technologies for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of Supplier Quality Management processes.
We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight from the Blue Origin regional office in Phoenix Arizona. Passion for our mission and vision is absolutely required. If you have direct experience with Supplier Quality organizations, either as a customer or supplier, and a thorough understanding of supply base quality related topics, let us know!
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate suitability and stability of current and potential suppliers of raw material and distributors regarding quality and technical capability.
- Lead suppliers through resolving discrepancies, including corrective and preventive actions as well as recovery plans.
- Support program reviews with key suppliers to ensure understanding of long-term business objectives.
- Communicate supplier performance to senior management.
- Participate in supplier quality audits, hardware acceptance and corrective actions.
- Focus on nonconformance reduction activities.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree in either engineering, science or manufacturing processes.
- 5+ years’ industry experience in a manufacturing field with at least 2 years in a supplier quality engineering role.
- Relevant experience in AS9100/AS9120 auditing.
- Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time and have a valid driver’s license.
- Quality assurance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Self-initiation and excellent time management skills.
- Competency to stay closely connected to your leadership structure and operational customers while working remotely.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Desired:
- Relevant experience in transitioning a product from development, through production to operations.
- American Society of Quality, Certified Quality Engineer certification.
- Six Sigma Green, Black Belt or comparable certification..

Engineer – Quality & Contin Improvement III is $94,875 – $139,150
Engineer – Quality & Contin Improvement II is $78,375 – $114,950
Compensation range for on site WA applicants:
Engineer – Quality & Contin Improvement Sr is $123,900 – $181,720
Engineer – Quality & Contin Improvement III is $103,500 – $151,800
Engineer – Quality & Contin Improvement II is $85,500 – $125,400
