The Boy De Chanel Makeup Line Expands To Include Skincare For Men
Chanel has long been a formidable presence in the beauty sphere – its first makeup collection dates all way back to the ’20s and need we even mention Chanel N°5? So people were naturally excited (though maybe not surprised) when two years ago, the French maison announced the launch of Boy de Chanel, its first makeup line dedicated for men. Boy de Chanel’s inaugural line-up was concise and compact; it consisted of three fundamentals – a foundation, lip balm and eyebrow pencil.
Now, the brand is expanding the range with the addition of three new makeup products (concealer, eye pencil and nail polish), and to round things off – skincare in the form of a gel moisturiser. If the initial launch was to subtly enhance one’s features, the new additions come across as more confident and assertive. That said, it’s 2020; traditional notions of gender are steadily being dismantled and as the brand puts it, “beauty is not a matter of gender; it is a matter of style”.
The new collection hits Chanel’s fragrance and beauty boutiques come July 31.
