Touch for Women Burberry perfume – a fragrance for women 1998
I just spritzed this perfume while out shopping tonight. The start of this is unusual, maybe the pepper/fruity blend – I’ve never really smelled this mixture before, it is definitely new to me. The middle wear of this fragrance moves more into a natural fragrance essence that literally smells like a field on a ranch/farm/garden — like you are walking out in nature, this is a perfume that feels like it is grounding – there is a comfort knowing that you are on rock solid firm ground. This has the open air natural smell similar to Ralph Lauren’s “Lauren” – which I wore for three years while in High School. There is a nice quality to this – especially if you like something that is a bit more natural and less of a “perfume-y” type smell.
The dry down on this is nice, this wears well – and this is the reason why I am exploring this perfume further. This was amazing with my chemistry, I got that magical lift where this was doing something magical with the mixture of my skin and the chemistry. This has stayed on with fairly good silage for five hours. This is the type of perfume that just gets better the longer this wears. This ends with that little special something that is magical with my chemistry. This is definitely worth exploring more. This has potential as a day time natural earthy every day perfume that could be worn in most circumstances without being over bearing or over done.
This is an easy reach and a go to for times when you just want a natural hint of fragrance. This doesn’t replace evening wear perfumes, but is very pleasant for day wear. A lot of reviews mention that this has a calming effect and that it is comforting. Yes, I can see that — it is like a walk out in nature, a breath of fresh air.

At times this smells like a light shampoo/conditioner/body gel — like the fragrances that happen when you are in the shower mixing the smells of soap/shower gel with shampoo/conditioner. This is fresh, smells like just out of the shower. (Chrystal Noir by Versace has this same type of impression, only that one smells much stronger and more botanical).
A review that I agree with:

…”It was suggested because I was looking for something very light and clean with a fruitiness. This is definantly that. It smelled like I just stepped out of the shower with some great candles lit :)”

The combination of Jasmine and Cedar was something that I was unfamiliar with until taking the time to find that I really liked what happens in the dry down phase. The first perfume that I found this combo in was Beauty by Calvin Klein. That perfume is ok in the opening when it is first sprayed, but the real magic happens when this moves into the dry down – or is activated by the heat of the day, in the spring/summer, or when working out/walking/exercising. This is probably the same thing that happened with this perfume, the dry down chemistry really blends well with my own chemistry. Amazingly well – in the final phases of wear.
This is magic on me. This carmelizes with my skin chemistry in to a very feminine sweet perfume in the final dry down. Don’t let the first moments and hour of wear throw you. Let this wear and keep notes on the final phase of the dry down — either you will like this, or not — it seems to be polarizing, but then again — this is the type of perfume that will depend a lot on your individual body chemistry.

In one of the reviews – they asked “why do we need this?” — as in , why does this type of perfume genre exist? This wouldn’t have been a perfume that I was drawn to before this past year when I was indoors a lot with offices that share an air conditioning/heating vent. There are definitely perfumes that are better for offices than others. I go to the gym or get walks in during the day, this is a perfume that smells like you have taken a fresh shower, so this serves many purposes, especially in the heat of the day when you have been sweating.
This is not a 1980’s “statement perfume”… and there are definitely times when you need a perfume that is not lingering in the air and needs its own zip code. YES, I still love a lot of my 1980’s perfumes and will continue to wear them; but there is also a time and place for this.

There is a quality of this that smells similar to Nivea Cream.
True Love by Elizabeth Arden is in this same genre.
I haven’t tried them side by side, but they are definitely in the same ball park.
