Biography

American murder victim, killed at his home in Mesa, Arizona. He sustained multiple stab wounds, a gunshot to the head, and his throat was cut; the medical examiner ruled the death a homicide. Jodi Arias, Alexander’s ex-girlfriend, was convicted of first-degree murder on May 8, 2013. At trial, Arias testified that she had killed Alexander in self-defense. The murder and trial received widespread media attention.

His father Gary David Alexander had died on 28 July 1997 in a motorcycle accident. Alexander and his seven siblings were taken in by their paternal grandmother, Norma Jean Preston Alexander Sarvey (1932–2012), who eventually introduced them to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (aka Mormons). Alexander was a salesman for the multi-level marketing company Prepaid Legal Services; he also worked as a motivational speaker.
