Video formats you can play on the OneDrive website – Microsoft Support
You can play most audio and video files, including mp4, Apple and QuickTime movie files directly from the OneDrive website , Sharepoint, Microsoft Teams, Steam, Yammer, and all across Microsoft 365.
Supported audio and video formats in OneDrive
The following audio/video files can be played directly from your OneDrive in most browsers: 3G2, 3GP, 3GPP, ASF, AVI, M2TS, M4A, M4V, MKV, MOV, MP3, MP4, MP4V, MTS, TS, WAV, WEBM, WMA, WMV
Tips: For the best video playback experience, we recommend the following video encoding settings:
-
Video: H.264 / MPEG-4 AVC, 1080p, 30 fps, suggested bitrate under 2 Mbps
-
Audio: AAC, 192 Kbps
-
Container: MP4
If you have videos in a different format, you can still upload them to OneDrive, but they might not play directly in a browser. To view them on a mobile device, you’ll need to download them first.
If a file doesn’t play, the format might be one that either OneDrive or your mobile device doesn’t support.
Note: DRM-protected video files can’t be played on OneDrive.
