Beautifully Effective Vitamin C Serum!!!
I got a sample from the Body Shop and immediately purchased it from Ulta after only a few days of testing it. I almost never buy a product so quickly upon testing, but I couldn’t help myself. I was so impressed by the results!
After just three days of using this Serum my skin was baby smooth, very obvisibly brightened, tone more even. I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror without makeup and was taken aback by the youthful, glowing appearance of my face! Seriously, I looked like a glowing baby-faced angel. I had just incorporated vit c back into my routine after having been off of it for some time. Nothing else was different in my routine, so I knew the results I was seeing came from this!
I’ve used five or six different vitc serums over the years. Some 10%, some 20%. This 10% Vit C by the Body Shop is seriously the most effective I’ve ever used AND it’s the most affordable! Goes to show that higher percentage doesn’t always equate to better.
It glides onto the skin effortlessly and doesn’t take much at all. I use 3 drops for my whole face and I use it every other day. The texture of the serum is silky and glossy, not greasy. It works well in the am under makeup. It’s not the thickest or the thinnest Vit c I’ve used, it’s right in the middle. The bottle is dark glass which helps prevent oxidization. I’ve had my bottle 2.5 months and the Serum is still as clear as water.
This is my first Body Shop active skincare product and I’m so impressed. I hope they never stop making it! I plan to get the Vit C moisturizer next.
Not for me, but……
I can see the benefits of this and why others would like it. For me, it is too sticky and it makes my face too shiny and it feels heavy. If you wear this on top of your skin (first) and then maybe a powder foundation, I could see that they would pair great. I don’t wear makeup, ever. I have used TBS Vitamin E Serum in Oil and did not have the same results. I would put it on, then apply TBS Aloe Night and it would absorb perfectly. I tried the same thing with the Vitamin C Serum and did not work the same. I prefer the Vitamin C Skin Boost Instant Smoother, which makes my skin smooth and soft….not sticky or heavy.

It feels very smooth on the skin. It caused me a little redness the first days but then it’s fine (I have sensitive skin). It has a little of a strong smell but I like it and it goes away after a few seconds.

I tried this just a few months ago on the recommendation of the store manager in Fairfax, VA. She was spot on. I wear it under my daily moisturizer and can feel and see a difference in my skin. Elasticity is better and skin tone is more even. Having used Body Shop vitamin C moisturizer for the past 25 years, I am happy to add another great product to my routine as I age. It works great if you choose to apply it at night, too. Added bonus, it’s easier to pluck starry eyebrow hairs since I began using this. No idea why, but I’ll take it!
