Gentle BHA for Tret Purge

If you’re not using any other actives and your skin is pretty bad, I would always recommend 2% bha. But if you’re using prescription retinoids and your skin is super bad because purging is a nightmare, this serum is bomb. The salicylic acid is fairly weak but with tea tree and willow bark, it still effectively minimizes acne and helps heal bumps faster without the irritation common to most bha products.

Although I’ve been using this twice a day in combination with tret, my skin isn’t red or dry. Ymmv, obviously, but thus far I’m impressed. Bonus points for vegan skincare options. My only disclaimer is that this is a weak product and probably won’t do much if you’re not in a position where you *need* a weaker formula. Sensitive skin will appreciate this one.

Overall TERRIBLE Product.

This is one of the worst products I have ever tried. I have sensitive skin, yet I had minor acne at the time so me and my mother went out searching for a cure for my acne. We came across this, and mom said it would be perfect, so we bought it. I also bought it with a face wash of a different brand. I began using both products for my skin that wasn’t prone to acne daily, since that was the instructions. A week passes by, and it seems my acne has gotten worse. I continue using it, since people say usually within the first couple weeks of using a new product, your skin will break out. A month passes by, and my skin is 20 times worse than it was before. My skin was dryer than it has ever been, and I constantly had to put moisturizer on. I would have really bad break outs and the pimples would remain for weeks. My mother said “maybe it’s the cleanser” so I stopped washing my face, which only made things worse, so I stopped using both products on my face. A month later, whilst talking to my mother about my bacne, and how I had a minor break out, she says “why don’t you use that serum you previously did?” Me, being the idiot I am, began using it on my back. Since then my bacne has only gotten worse and it hurts to even lay down, so I have officially stopped using this product all together.

I have no idea where all these glowing reviews came from because this did nothing. It has a very strong unpleasant scent and left my skin so sticky. I used it until I ran out and noticed no difference. My skin breaks out just as often as it did before using this product. I’d skip this one.

It smells awful and is 100% worth it. It won’t clear blackheads but it’ll get the rest and after 27 years of trying to find ANYTHING that would relieve my acne I finally found my product. It’s so non-drying that I don’t even use the matching moisturizer (which incidentally is the stinkiest product I’ve ever tried, smells like an antique store basement). If you struggle with adult acne and sensitive skin, buy this now.

I got this after i failed to do my skincare for a week and started breaking out horribly. This bascually cleared up my skin overnight my acne wasn’t completely gone but it took the redness down and made any acne spots smaller with only one application. Absolutely love it!!

This unexpectedly had a huge positive impact on my very stubborn acne. Use it twice a day, rub it in thoroughly into my face immediately after showering. Absorbs completely-non drying, super clearing. Life changing.

has kept my acne prone skin in balance, I’ve noticed an improvement in texture as well. it’s not a miracle, but when used over time you see the benefits. I use this in combination witheir vitamin c night cream, and I often go without makeup now (which is a shock for me!).
