We’ve reached a unique era in sneakers, where slides and clogs are at the peak of what’s considered “fashion” in footwear. adidas just so happens to be purveying the most sought after ones on the market; the Yeezy Foam Runner and Yeezy Slides by Kanye West’s Yeezy brand are arguably the most recognizable, while adidas Originals is stepping forward with its adilette 22 (which Kanye himself accused the parent company adidas of plagiarizing) and the new adiFOM Q.

You might’ve seen samples of this foam clog shoe over the last few months, but today adidas Originals has officially announced the upcoming shoe on Twitter. According to the brand, the adiFOM Q is a crafted foam based on an adidas sneaker from 2001 – the adidas Quake. This side-by-side comparison does validate that description, although it’s hard not to see elements of the Yeezy Foam Runner in the adiFOM Q.

The difference between the two models, however, is that the adiFOM Q has an interior lining that can be worn with the shoe. The adiFOM Q is less a sandal/clog and more a wearable exoskeleton, similar to the recent Sponge Crater presented by Converse and *A-COLD-WALL.

A release date for the adiFOM Q has not been revealed, but they’re confirmed to drop in 2022. Stay tuned for more details.
