Update: I have been using this serum for almost a year now, everyday in the morning. I’m changing my review to 2 stars because quite honestly there has been 0 change in any of my skin issues. My age spots and acne scarring, unevenness, fine lines, are all still present in the same way they were when I started photographing my skin early this year (2020). Now that it’s December I’ve gone through 2 bottles and I feel it’s important to update this review to reflect that. The serum does make my skin soft when it is on my skin, but if I don’t have it on it doesn’t feel soft; so it’s the serum itself making my skin soft, it’s not actually softening. This also goes for making my skin look a little brighter/dewey-er (is that a word) while I’m wearing it. I give it two stars because it does that, but I really was looking for long term updates to my skin issues, which this unfortunately did not help.___Original Review:I’ve been using this and their Vitamin A to lighten an age spot directly under my eye. I’ve been using for a week and I actually am noticing a difference! I’ve used The Ordinary in the past with no results, so I’m super thrilled!I read some other reviews saying that if yours has a slight yellow twinge that it’s been oxidized and won’t work. Mine was slightly yellow. So I purchased another one directly from Mad Hippie to do a comparison. They look exactly the same. I then emailed Mad Hippie directly and received this response:”Not to worry, a pale yellow, cloudy serum is perfectly normal for our Vitamin C Serum due to the plant extracts (such as chamomile, clary sage, and konjac) used in the formulation. We use a very stable form of vitamin C called SAP that does not oxidize easily even when exposed to heat for brief periods of time (such as during shipping). We also do not use synthetic dyes in our formula. A bottle of our Vitamin C Serum has a 30-month shelf life when unopened. But, once opened, it should be used with 4-6 months for maximum efficacy. “I hope this helps set the record straight on the color.
