Burberry Body and it’s flankers (Page 1) — Perfume Selection Tips for Women — Fragrantica Club
Burberry’s Body line is one of my favourite in the world, I have 3 of them. They all have the same notes, with different ones in focus. Only 2 EDTs have additional notes, but I will get to that later.
let’s see… First the ones I have:
Burberry Body the original, long lasting with moderate projection. You might think it’s a little soft, but this line is called Body for a reason. It is meant as a “your skin but better” and I find it pretty sensual overall. It has the rose peach combo similar to Gucci Rush, also create by Michel Almairac. While Rush features coriandre, Body brings wormwwod into focus, giving it a bitter, herbal tone (not fresh though). The dry down is glorious, musk and cashmeran, extremly cosy, in a sexy way. Like wearing nothing at all under a soft sweater. It has a classic feel to it, different from the sweets that all all the rage now .
Burberry Body Eau de Parfum Intense the original on steroids. The first blast is powerfull and loud peach and wormwood. It takes longer to get to the drydown, but once it gets there, I am in heaven. The late drydown of this one is the initial dry down of the regular body. Being so loud in the first hours tends to make it just a lil’ bit less long lasting. If the original lasts all day, this one gets quiet a couple of hours earlier. Not a significant difference.
Burberry Body Tender this one is the most different among them. It is fresh. It features the bitterness of wormood with the freshness of lemon and tea. It is rosy without being rose dominant. I bought it on impulse for a good price and it is not my favourite in the line, but it has its place. It is crisp and sheer, but has food performance. Easily 6-8 hours with 2 sprays and the people around do notice it.
The ones I don’t own:
Burberry Body Eau de Toilette I only tested it. It resembles the original in the drydown, but without the oomph. The apple note shines in the first hours and only after it fades the original Body comes in play. It is soft and unoffensive, might work for people who can’t take the classic smell of Body.
Burberry Burberry Body Rose Gold and Burberry Burberry Body Gold Limited Edition -I didn’t have the chance to test them, although I consider blind buying them if I come across a good price online. They seem to be versions of the original, with a different note in focus.
PS. Oh dear, what a wall of text. Hope its helpful at least…
Edit: I realized I didn’t chose my favorite: I think I prefer Intense, only becaise I love the punch of the top notes. 1 spray fills the room, so be careful with this one. Least favourite is Tender, but I am not a fan of fresh scents either. I should’ve invested in a back up of the original
