Chanel Les 4 Ombres Eyeshadow Quads Swatches of All Shades | By Georgia Grace
I’ve finally gotten around to swatching Chanel’s entire range of Les 4 Ombres Tisses quads, including a currently available limited edition quad called Tisse Jazz from Chanel’s Blue Rhythm de Chanel collection (full review & swatches here; FOTD here).
Enjoy!

226 Tisse Rivoli:
– Incredibly pigmented, smooth and almost creamy chocolate brown with deep aubergine undertones. This is not a matte shadow, in fact, it almost glows because it’s so creamy…but it is a no-shimmer shadow, which makes it very unique.
– Warm, nutty taupe with golden tones and incredibly shimmer
– Neutral to cool, medium, sparkling taupe brown
– Pale ivory shimmer
Every single shade in Tisse Rivoli is buttery smooth, verging on creamy with incredible pigmentation. There’s a reason this quad is frequently named as a favorite among Chanel’s Tisse range by many bloggers!
214 Tisse Mademoiselle:
– Slightly warm, shimmering brown
– Shimmering light gold
– Medium, warm brown with fine golden shimmer
– Pale gold shimmer
Tisse Mademoiselle is a gorgeous, golden neutral quad that is perfect for a subtle, yet glowingly golden every day look. Color Me Loud mentioned that she felt this quad was a bit drier than the others…I don’t think this quad is dry at all, it’s just not as creamy and buttery as most of the others are. The pigmentation isn’t full-on, in-your-face, but it’s definitely buildable over a primer. My bottom line: I love this quad as an every-day neutral.
224 Tisse Jazz (LE):
– Deep black with navy undertones
– Royal shimmering blue
– Warm, aqua, turquoise blue with almost a golden-green duochrome
– Pearly white shimmer
Of all the quads reviewed here, Tisse Jazz is the only one that is limited edition, from Chanel’s Blue Rhythm de Chanel capsule collection for Fall 2015. You can read my full review of the collection here and see my FOTD with Tisse Jazz (the one item I picked up) here.
All the shades in this quad are buttery smooth and incredibly pigmented. The palette of blues is particularly beautiful and unique to my eye, as I don’t commonly see many definitely warm-toned blues released in palettes!
224 Tisse Riviera
– Buttery smooth, almost creamy jet black (same non-matte but non-shimmer formula as is used in Rivoli)
– Pale, silvery-blue, sparkle/glitter
– Medium, neutral-cool blue shimmer
– Pale shimmering ivory with pink duochrome
Tisse Riviera is probably the most wearable blue palette I’ve ever seen…it’s almost a ‘neutral’ palette to me…that’s how wearable it is! The shades are all incredibly smooth and pigmented, with the jet black being the same incredibly smooth to the point of being creamy formula that is used in Tisse Rivoli.
246 Tisse Smoky:
– Buttery smooth, almost creamy jet black (same non-matte but non-shimmer formula as is used in Rivoli)
– Medium, gunmetal gray with multicolour shimmer
– Pale, silvery gray shimmer
– Pale, pearly white shimmer
Tisse Smoky is a true smoky palette with a gradient of cool neutrals from white to black that Chanels line-up has been lacking up until now. The quality of the palette is high, like all the others, with great texture and pigmentation.
208 Tisse Gabrielle:
– Deep, brownish-black with multicolour shimmer
– Deep, muted aubergine with multicolour shimmer
– Deep, muted gunmental gray with blue undertones and multicolour shimmer
– Pale, pearly ivory shimmer
Tisse Gabrielle is a gorgeous, unconventional smoky palette, with three dark shades in various colors ranging from a brownish black to aubergine to gunmetal blue-gray. All the shades have a muted, almost dusty quality and multicolour shimmer (except the white), which makes them incredibly complex and beautiful! This palette performs well, with good pigmentation, although not quite as creamy or buttery in texture as many of the other palettes.
232 Tisse Venitien:
– Deep, deep forest green with teal undertones and multicolour shimmer
– Medium-light, metallic, silvery-green sparkle
– Medium, rich, teal-green shimmer
– Pale, pearly pink shimmer
Tisse Venitien was the star of the newly reformulated and released Les 4 Ombres Tisses collection when it originally launched and remains so to this day. This palette is incredibly rich in colour pigmentation and texture, and the color theme is incredibly jewel like and delectable. The two darker green shades have incredibly rich pigmentation, applying with almost complete opacity. The silvery green is a true sparkle shade, and the sparkle is really incredible. The pink is the perfect, whisper-soft compliment to the boldness of the three main shades. Tisse Venitien is another must-have in my book.
254 Tisse d’Automne:
– Deep, muted, cool brown with khaki udnertones
– Mediun, warm, coppery, taupe brown shimmer
– Medium, olive green with gold almost-duochrome
– Pale, peachy pink shimmer
Tisse d’Automne was just released in the Fall 2015 Les Automnales de Chanel collection. Aside from the darkest shade, it has really good pigmentation. The coppery brown-taupe and medium olive green shades are really beautiful and are perfect for the cool days ahead.
204 Tisse Vendome:
– Medium-dark, neutral-cool brown with silver shimmer
– Medium, peachy, apricot orange shimmer
– Medium, warm brown shimmer
– Pale, ivory-with-peach-undertones shimmer
Tisse Vendome was unexpected love for me. This palette looks amazing on warm skin tones as well as on those with blue eyes. It’s a gorgeous neutral palette and the incredibly wearable peachy apricot shade can be used for a subtle or dramatic pop of color that really lights up the face. The texture and pigmentation are fantastic as well.
202 Tisse Camelia:
– Deep, rich, blackened aubergine
– Light, dusty pink shimmer
– Medium-light, soft, hazy, lavender gray shimmer
– Frosty, white shimmer with gold overtones
Tisse Camelia was another unexpected love for me. The pigmentation and texture is great, with the exception of the lavender gray, which has much softer pigmentation. The palette read more purple to me initially, when in reality, it’s a gorgeous, very neutral palette with purple leaning tones. The aubergine is incredibly rich and gorgeous, while the two hazy pink and lavender shades are gorgeous and wearable neutral shades as a lid wash on their own or with the aubergine to add depth and drama.
228 Tisse Cambon:
– Deep, buttery and creamy purple
– Medium, true pink with gold duochrome
– Light, hazy, grayish-pink with silver sparkle
– White shimmer
Tisse Cambon was another unexpected love for me…which is incredible as I normally really dislike strong, bubblegum pink and purple colours. The pigmentation of the palette was phenomenal, with the deep purple having the same almost wet and creamy formula as several of the other dark shades in other tisse palettes. The two medium shades are both very wearable on their own. In particular, I love the hazy, grayish pink with silver sparkle color!
238 Tisse Paris:
– Jet black with multicolour shimmer
– Medium, muted, rosewood pink
– Light pink shimmer
– White shimmer with subtle gold flecks
Tisse Paris was also unexpected love…so pretty much I should have just said that all the pink/purple toned palettes were unexpected loves for me! Oh me of little faith 😉 I should have known that Chanel can make any colourway wearable! The pigmentation of Tisse Paris is also incredibly phenomenal, and all the shades have the hallmark buttery smooth texture of most of the Tisse lineup. This palette is very neutral and wearable for daytime, in addition to being perfect for an evening, pink-toned, modern smoky look, thanks to the incredibly black shade.
Below, I’ve included side-by-side swatches of Tisses Camelia, Paris and Cambon for comparison.
Have a great week everyone! Xx
