Chanel Les Beige Healthy Glow Lip Balm Review
I might not be sunning myself in the south of France right now, but I am channeling French-girl makeup vibes all winter long. While I feel like I’ve got the tousled hair (thank you, Oribe), and raw skin figured out, I’ve always struggled to find the perfect lip color. You know the one—that muted, pinky-red that comes off more stain, less painted-on. Well, I’ve finally found it, and from none other than the quintessential French beauty house Chanel.
The newly launched Les Beige Healthy Glow Lip Balm comes in five shades of rouge. Personally, I’m partial to Deep since it gives a perfect berry stain that’s both uncomplicated and universally flattering. Paired with neutral skin, a hint of blush, and a lick of mascara, my winter makeup is sorted. And now, so is yours.

How to Apply
Nourishing and foolproof, this balm enhances natural lip color, and gives just a subtle sheen (before drying down to a more matte finish, once the gloss dissipates). Apply as you would a normal lipstick or balm, or use a small brush to apply to the lips with more attention to detail. For best results (read: ultimate hydration), glide on lips daily. It’s long-lasting, so you don’t have to reapply too often (if at all). Wear it alone for a hint of color or layer with your lipstick of choice for a more customized look. It actually works really well as a cheek color too—just use your fingers to pat it on.
The Color
Choose between five different shades of rouge, Light, Warm, Medium, Deep, and Intense. Each shade delivers a sheer wash to the lips. Instead of the thick, bold color lipstick typically provides, this lip balm offers a lighter, and shinier, alternative. Each shade, all pinkish red tones, are great options for casual outings.

The Results
There’s no false advertising here as this moisturizing lip balm left my pout with a “healthy glow” and just the right touch of color to give off serious French-girl vibes. Thanks to its lightweight, non-stick formula, you can wear this lip balm comfortably all day long, and into the night as well. The shine turns to a subtle color after the initial application, which makes it the perfect long-lasting lip product. Keep it in your purse or on your desk for an instant pick me up and a ready to conquer the world attitude.

The Value
You can usually find this Les Beige product retailing for around $25, which, for a lip balm seems a bit steep—then again, it is Chanel—however, let’s not forget that apart from bathing lips in a sheer wash of color, it’s got the added bonus of doubling as a cheek stain. Oh, and it’s instantly hydrating. Not too shabby, IMHO. I’d invest in this lip balm again and again. It’s an effortless step in your routine that makes you feel, and look, instantly put together.

Our Verdict
Chanel’s Les Beige Healthy Glow Lip Balm ticks off my checkboxes of texture, color, and quality. In other words, it delivers. Add espadrilles and a Rouje dress, and you’re basically Jeanne Damas.
