Chanel N°5, a 1921 work of art by perfumer Ernest Beaux, is perhaps the most iconic women’s perfume in the world. The classic floral – aldehyde composition was given a modern, airy and silky interpretation adapted to the new generation in the form of Chanel N°5 Eau Premiere in 2007 and was signed by Jacques Polge. Chanel N°5 Eau Premiere was re-launched in 2015 in a new formula, with advertising featuring supermodel Gisele Bundchen.
The latest fragrance in the legendary Chanel N°5 line is scheduled for the fall of 2016. Chanel N°5 L’Eau is the flanker that aims to capture the younger, millennial audience. The scent was developed by Olivier Polge as a light and fresh interpretation of the sophisticated original, featuring prominent note of May rose from Grasse. Olivier Polge has apparently been working on this composition since 2013.
