Chanel Rouge Coco Bloom Lipsticks Review and Swatches

Chanel just released a new lipstick formula in 20 new shades. The Rouge Coco Bloom lipsticks are described as Hydrating Plumping Intense Shine Lip Color.

I picked up two of the shades to try out the new formula: Dream and Radiant

UPDATE April 2022: I have since added two more of these lipsticks (Zenith and Merveille) to my collection and added some uodated photos and swatches below.

Chanel Rouge Coco Bloom Lipsticks in 116 Dream and 118 Radiant

The packaging is just like the Rouge Coco Flash lipsticks but instead of gold accent these are done in silver. I like that they are different so that I can easily tell which lipstick I am grabbing.

The formula of these lipsticks is very creamy and very pigmented in one swipe. They go on so smooth and buttery, and do not settle in my lip lines. The color is also much longer wearing then the Rouge Coco Flash lipsticks which feel a little bit more like a lip balm, to me.

The Rouge Coco Bloom Lipsticks stay on the lips a lot longer than I expected for how creamy they are. They do provide quite a bit of shine to the lips, but the shine is a little bit less than if you were to apply a gloss on top, in my opinion.

These have the same scent as the Rouge Coco Flash Lipsticks, to me. They do not smell minty and they do not feel tingly or minty at all while I have them on my lips. I am very thankful for this because I normally do not like plumping lip products because the stinging sensation and minty lip products always irritate my skin. These just feel extremely creamy and buttery on the lips without any weird sensations. They are very comfortable to wear and I think the plumping comes from the hydrating ingredients and how they look very smooth on the lips. They almost seem to blur out lip lines on me.

116 Dream

Chanel Rouge Coco Bloom Lipstick 116 Dream

Rouge Coco Bloom in 116 Dream– This shade is a gorgeous nude pink color and is exactly the type color I wanted this to be. It is the perfect every day “my lips but better” shade. I absolutely love it and will definitely get a lot of use out of this.

118 Radiant

Chanel Rouge Coco Bloom Lipstick 118 Radiant

Rouge Coco Bloom in 118 Radiant– This shade is a deeper rosy mauve with plum and brown undertones. It is a beautiful color that is different from anything else I have in my collection. On my pigmented lips it is a deeper neutral mauve shade.

Swatches

The swatches show up a little bit warmer on my hand than they do on my pigmented lips. On my lips they look very neutral in undertone so I feel like these two shades would look good on everybody.

Here they are again in slightly different lighting that shows them a little bit less warm in tone.

Final Thoughts

I think this is an amazing new lipstick formula from Chanel and I absolutely love the two that I purchased. These feel amazing on the lips and the colors I chose are beautiful. I will definitely pick up more shades in this lipstick formula now that I know they are not tingly.

The entire range of colors will be beautiful for spring. I think if you love the Rouge Coco Flash formula and want a Lipstick with more pigmentation, then these will be perfect for you.

The Chanel Rouge Coco Bloom Lipsticks retail for $40 and are currently available at Chanel.com and will be coming to other retailers and Chanel counters soon. These are part of the permanent range, as far as I know.
