Chanel Rouge Coco Lip Swatches of All Shades! | By Georgia Grace

YOU GUYS. Here they are. Lip swatches of the entire lineup of Chanel Rouge Coco lipsticks. Swatch heaven after the jump!
I am writing this on the fly as I’m about to go meet friends from Dartmouth at the train station – we are going to the opera tonight, and I’m beyond excited! Anyway, another note I wanted to mention, haha, so um, as I was going through these photos, I realized that in certain photos I look like I want to kill someone :D. Just wanted to let everyone know that I was not having any hostile, threatening or aggressive feelings toward any of your or any other human or living beings while these were being taken. Although it is totally possible that I was getting tired of applying, photographing, removing and re-applying lipstick, so perhaps the sentiments that might accompany such an exhausting process are being reflected in my face :D. Haha, ohhh yeaaa, and almost forgot: I got my hair cut as well….again, I wanted to add that because if I didn’t, I bet you wouldn’t even be able to tell. Happy weekend everyone!! Xx

Nudes:

Summary: I really like 400 Louise, 402 Adrienne and 404 Julia. All are great nudes…I was particularly impressed with Louise, which is in a shade and undertone category that is very difficult for me to find lipsticks in because they tend to make me look very corpse-like and are usually incredibly unflattering.

Corals:

Summary: 416 Coco was my favourite colour of the bunch. Chanel chose to go the straight orange route in its interpretation of ‘coral’, as opposed to more pink or red corals.

Warm Pinks:

Summary: 424 Edith and 428 Legende are my favourites, with 426 Roussy coming in second place. These first 5 pinks have warm, yellow undertones, which are well-suited to my skintone. Edith is a great, neutral, my-lips-but-better, year-round pink. Legende is a little bit darker, but still a great, year-round, wear-with-anything, sophisticated pink. Roussy is a bright, but not neon, sophisticated pink which I think will be great come summertime.

Mauve Pinks:

Summary: 430 Marie, 432 Cecile and 434 Mademoiselle are my favourites of this bunch. Marie is a more reddish version of Legende. Cecile is my perfect Nude! Mademoiselle is a spot on my-lips-but-better colour. I would say that the new Rouge Coco Mademoiselle is a bit lighter, less red and more muted and mauve than the old Mademoiselle… The new Mademoiselle is a real my-lips-but-better colour for me, while to old one was more of a heavy-neutral, rosewood colour.

Reds:

I love every single one of these!

440 Arthur is a bright, tomato, coral red with orange undertones. It reminds me of one of my favourite YSL lipsticks: Rouge Pur Couture 13 Le Orange.

442 Dmitri is a coral red with pink undertones. This is almost my perfect, dream lipstick colour, which Chanel Rouge Allure Insaisissable comes close to nailing as well – a juicy red which leans pink, but which is definitely a bright, light red and not pink.

444 Gabrielle is also my favourite – a bright, classic, true red.

446 Etienne is a plummy, berry red, which I am also in love with.

Plums:

Summary: It’s funny to me that Chanel calls these colours “plums” because almost none of them strike me as ‘plummy’ colours. There are several cool-toned pinks in here, which I do not usually think of as being colours that look good on me. I was surprised to find that I actually think almost all of them look good on me, although I still don’t like cool toned pinks on my face! My favourites are 452 Emilienne, which is a really great, medium, pinky-coral that’s somewhat muted while still being brightening to the face. 454 Jean is my other favourite – it’s a shade that’s out of my comfort zone. A hot pink that’s not too cool in undertone and leans a little bit purple. It’s bright without being so bright that it makes me feel garish, and would be my ‘risky’ pick of the entire Rouge Coco line.

So there you have it: lip swatches of all the new Chanel Rouge Cocos! I hope you found these helpful! 🙂 Xx
