Another week, another Chanel bag to love. This time, it’s the Camera Case from the French luxury brand’s Spring-Summer 2020 collection, one that has just arrived across the boutiques in Singapore. What’s a camera case, you may ask? Well, Chanel classifies that as a crossbody bag with slightly curved corners, typically coming in a rectangular shape that’s meant to carry all your personal belongings rather than an actual camera.

Now, the Camera Case silhouette has been around for several years now, reinvented season after season with slight tweaks in terms of leather (caviar vs smooth) or quilting (chevron vs diamond) options. But for this new season, Virginie Viard has given the bag a significant uplift, furnishing each piece with an oversized black leather CC logo right in front. The cool feature lies in the fact that you can slide your hand through the leather logo that’s actually a cut-out and hold the bag like a chic clutch, in addition to carrying it by way of the leather/metal sling shoulder strap.

The S/S20 Camera Case (SGD4920) comes in a single size that measures 20 cm by 13 cm, opening via a top zip closure to a relatively roomy interior for all your bits and bobs. Aside from the classic combination in lambskin with gold hardware, there’s also a second version in tweed that features a fun mix of black, orange, pink and white. As for those who prefer carrying the case like a belt bag strapped across the body or have it sitting high on the waist or low on the hip, Chanel has a slightly different option known as the Waist Bag which come in the same bag shape but with a different positioning of the strap. The latter comes in Red Tweed and is priced slightly lower at SGD4600.
