1. The Directorate of Standards, Metrology and Quality is an agency under the Ministry of Science and Technology, which assists the Minister of Science and Technology to fulfill State management functions of standards, metrology as well as quality of products and goods as stipulated by laws.

2. The Directorate of Standards, Metrology and Quality has the legal status, the stamp with the national emblem and its headquarter in Hanoi City.
