Calvin Klein enlisted a group of diverse stars who are unapologetically themselves for the brand’s newest “Deal With It” campaign.
The American fashion company announced on Thursday that it selected Lil Nas X, SZA, Maluma, and “Euphoria” star Hunter Schafer to appear alongside CK veterans Justin Bieber, Kendall Jenner and Lay Zhang in the new ad because of their “willingness to bare themselves to the world.”
“An ode to self-expression, each set captures the talent in their own exaggerated world, with stripped-back and raw elements that are inherent to the brand and drive home the ‘Deal With It’ narrative,” a press release states.
Lil Nas X, who is openly gay, and Schafer, a transgender woman, represent members of the LGBTQ+ community in the campaign.
“My name is Lil Nas X … I don’t know what the hell is going on,” the “Old Town Road” singer says in the ad. “Deal with it.”
Meanwhile, Maluma, a Colombian reggaeton artist, and Zhang, who became Calvin Klein’s first Chinese global spokesperson in July 2019, showcase the brand’s desire to appeal to a multicultural client.

“I do what I want,” SZA confidently says in the clip, adding, “Everything I love, I overdo.”
The launch of the campaign interestingly comes less than a week after SZA, 29, claimed she was done doing photoshoots forever.
“Not doing any videos Interviews or photos for the rest of my life lol don’t ask,” the singer tweeted last Wednesday.
