Klairs Midnight Blue Youth Activating Drop Review

Klairs is one of my favorite brands – pretty much everything they make works really well for my combination skin. I used and loved their midnight recovery cream, so it made sense to try the Klairs Midnight Blue Youth Activating Drops as well. This overnight serum features a dual peptide formula to reduce the look of lines and wrinkles while you sleep. I don’t have a lot of lines (yet), but prevention is almost always so much easier than treatment. Klairs Midnight Blue serum is cruelty free and vegan.
How to use

Cleanse the face

Gently apply a few drops of the Klairs serum, pat in (before toner)

Seal in with moisturizer
The serum comes in a classic glass bottle with a dropper and has a beautiful blue color (from guaiazulene and not from synthetic colorants). I do not notice any scent. The texture is watery with a bit of a pleasant slip to it. Guaiazulene is a dark blue crystalline hydrocarbon, has antioxidant and antiinflammatory properties and can help alleviate redness. It’s a popular component in soothing / cooling products.
My impressions
I always have high hopes for Klairs products, and this one didn’t disappoint. I still have some of the Klairs Midnight Blue cream as well (review here), so if my skin is feeling especially irritated / red, I use both of them together for the best results. My skin isn’t sensitive, but I am so fair that any little thing like scratching an itch, spending a little too much time outside in the wind, popping a pimple, or working out vigorously makes me red.
The activating drop is easy and pleasant to apply. It soaks right into the skin without leaving it greasy or congested. I wake up with a more even skin tone (no redness), plumped up lines (especially on the forehead), and an overall improved look of the skin. As mentioned earlier, I do not have a lot of wrinkles to truly judge if the serum made them look better, but I hope it’s helping keep the emerging ones at bay.
