This report provides guidance on the alternative methods for measuring and valuing health-related quality of life in situations where available EQ-5D data from clinical studies are insufficient for the requirements of the economic evaluation.

The report makes recommendations about the circumstances when each method may be used. It also suggests a hierarchy of methods where more than one option is feasible.
