Meet the “Le Cagole”: Balenciaga’s Latest It Bag That Celebrities Are Loving Right Now
Balenciaga is no stranger to it bags. Some may even argue that the Paris-based luxury fashion house defined the very term back in 2001 when it launched its iconic Motorcycle bag with creative director Nicolas Ghesquière at the brand’s helm. The designer arm candy with its edgy distressed-chic aesthetic found itself on the wardrobe rotation of the biggest it girls from the aughts like Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, Nicole Richie, and Kate Moss, who were often photographed by the paparazzi holding a venti Starbucks on one hand and the ubiquitous Balenciaga Moto bag on another.
Two decades later, Balenciaga is at it again, presenting its latest entry to the fashion world’s it bag supremacy. As more and more fashion houses join the era of revivals (Welcome to the resurgence of Fendi Baguette, Dior Saddle, and Prada Re-Edition!), it was only a matter of time before the legendary Moto bag also got a makeover in the form of the Le Cagole.

What Is the Balenciaga Le Cagole Shoulder Bag?
Under the creative leadership of Demna Gvasalia, the first attempt to reimagine Balenciaga’s Moto bag was initially done in the form of the Neo Classic, which came with a more structured silhouette. While the signature hardware studs and braided handles are there, that nonchalant devil-may-care charm of the beloved classic seemed to be the missing ingredient. Balenciaga found better luck in a fresher update when it introduced the Le Cagole.
Smaller than its predecessor yet definitely bigger than those trendy ultra-mini bags that barely fit a tube of lipstick, the Le Cagole takes on the half-moon or baguette-style shoulder bag shape that has also made a huge comeback in the recent years. The croissant-like silhouette feels like a younger yet quirkier iteration of the Moto, and the new-gen it girls—or “influencers,” rather—seem to have gotten the memo. Quick to snag their own Le Cagole arm candy were Bella Hadid, Dua Lipa, and Kim Kardashian, who herself appeared on the Balenciaga campaign with the bag rendered in highlighter green.

How Much Is the Balenciaga Le Cagole Shoulder Bag?
The price of the Balenciaga Le Cagole shoulder bag ranges from $1500 (approx. P88,200) to $7400 (approx. P435,400), depending on the size, material, and design.
The least expensive is a mini bag that comes with a shoulder chain strap with one hook. If you prefer an adjustable strap with braided leather shoulder pad, you’d have to shell out a few more hundred bucks depending on your pick between Arena lambskin or crocodile calfskin leather. If you’re looking for the version with the heftiest price tag though, ask for the one studded with sparkly rhinestones!
