Nikon D7500 DSLR Sample Images
Here’s a selection of photos I’ve taken with the D7500 to give a sense of how it performs under real-world shooting conditions.
The new Nikon D7500 has a 20.9MP CMOS sensor that produces images up to 5568 x 3712 pixels. It uses a cropped APS-C sensor, or DX sensor as Nikon calls them. So to convert the lens focal length from the cropped DX to the equivalent of a 35mm full-frame focal length, you multiply it by 1.5x. For example, if it says in a caption that the photo was taken at 300mm, that’s the practical equivalent of a 450mm focal length in full-frame terms.
It has an ISO sensitivity range from ISO 100 up to ISO 51,200. There are also extended ranges that go up to ISO 1638400, although the image quality deteriorates markedly and its practical uses are limited, particularly at the upper ends of that range. I’ve posted some examples at various ISOs separately.

It shoots in JPG and RAW (NEF) file types, with a range of settings for each, including 12-bit and 14-bit lossless compressed NEF.
So here’s a collection of sample images I’ve shot with the D7500 to give a sense of how it performs under real-world shooting conditions. They were mostly shot in RAW (NEF), and most have been only lightly processed in Lightroom. A few of them have had somewhat more done to them in post-processing or use a flash with color gels, and I’ve noted those in the captions.

High-Resolution Sample Images Taken with a Nikon D7500
Photo taken with a Nikon D7500 and a Nikon 16-80 mm f/2.8-4 lens at 16 mm. ISO 450 at ¹⁄₆₀ sec at f/2.8. This was using an on-camera flash zoomed in with a red gel to add a pop of color to the rockets. The overall white balance was then shifted a little towards the incandescent end to give the blue cast to the daylight illumination in the background. The flash was a Nikon SB-5000 with a red gel.

This is the combination of on-camera flash with a red gel (a Yongnuo YN560 IV with a MagMod red gel and MagSphere) and shifting the overall white balance a little towards the red in order to introduce the green/blue cast to the background.

I’d normally warm this up by about 500K, which mightn’t sound like a lot but in a shot like this makes the difference between the blue-gray tint to a more realistic and natural warmer color in the bricks and columns.

This is a good example of the overall coolness the camera seems to favor under a lot of conditions. It’s easy to fix–especially since I’m shooting RAW–but by default the shots often come out cooler than I prefer. It also looks a little underexposed to me (matrix metering with 0 EV exposure compensation).

There’s not much special about the photo, but with all the fine detail at the edges of the frame, it is useful for looking at the combination of camera and lens sharpness at a wide aperture. Also, to my eyes, it’s slightly underexposed, and that’s confirmed in the histogram. It was shot with matrix metering and no exposure compensation (ie. 0 EV).

It’s had some clarity slider applied in Lightroom and desaturated. An on-camera flash with a red gel just popping at low power is what created the reddish tint in the foreground.
