Who is a quality control engineer?

 

 A quality control engineer works in industries such as automobile, transportation, textile, and industrial equipment. Their main role is to monitor, test, and report on the quality of products. Depending on the position they may also be needed to check the raw materials, components, mechanical systems, or final products.

 

What does a quality control engineer do?

 

A Quality control engineer’s duty may change with changing industries and companies, but one of the main tasks includes testing the systems and procedures to ensure that they have met the technical standards and hence creating quality and safety documentation. Quality control engineers are also responsible for checking the technical issues and getting to the root of the problem, too. They also proactively recommend solutions that will improve the product’s durability and overall performance.

 

Job brief

 

We are looking for a Quality control engineer who can test our products and procedures and ensure that they meet the said safety and quality standards. To be successful in this role it is important that you should be familiar with various inspection techniques and be able to act as an auditor for all of our internal systems identifying issues and recommending solutions. If you consist of a degree in engineering or quality assurance along with great attention to detail then we’d like to meet you.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

The duties and responsibilities of a quality control engineer can be provided as follows:

  • Set detailed guidelines on what needs to be checked out and what the quality standards are

  • Inspect product materials and electrical systems for defects and durability

  • Prepare reports on malfunctions and corrective actions

  • Review current blueprints and quality documentation

  • Set and track quality assurance goals

  • Determine quality metrics for all manufacturing procedures

  • Audit our systems relying on the ISO 9001:2015 requirements

  • Update our QMS (Quality Management System) with incidents, fixes, and improvements

 

Key requirements

 

The key requirements can be provided as follows:

  • Previous work experience as a quality control engineer or a similar role

  • Hands-on experience with quality management systems and testing methodologies

  • Good analytical skills

  • Additional certification in quality assurance will be a plus

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or relevant field

  • Familiarity with statistical analysis

  • In-depth understanding of technical documentation

  • Team spirit
