Job Description
SUMMARY
Quality Control Intern will assist in routine analyses in a chemistry environment by following standard practices. The intern will also assist the QC Supervisor in maintaining the established systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists the Scientist while they conduct routine chemical and physical testing of pharmaceutical raw materials, packaging components, finished products, microbiological, and stability samples by internally developed and compendial test methods.
- Assists in daily instrument calibrations and verifications as required.
- Assists in preparing regulatory documents and other communications with outside agencies, clients, and/or colleagues from other corporate sites.
- Contributes to writing of SOPs if needed.
- Cleans and organizes work area, instrumentation, and testing materials. Cleans HPLC and dissolution systems after use.
- Performs all duties in strict compliance with Standard Operating Procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices, Good Laboratory Practices, and Safety guidelines. Maintains the necessary compliance status required by company and facility standards.
- Assists the department with any other duties as needed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor s degree program in Chemistry, Microbiology, Biology, Biochemistry or related field is preferred.
Minimum education requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent. Individuals with experience in a cGMP laboratory environment with effective communication and reasoning skills are preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Design software and Word Processing software.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Able to obtain DEA registration.

Lab coat, safety shoes, safety glasses with side shields, and protective gloves will all be provided.
