About the Quality Engineering Technology Degree

DESCRIPTION

Students prepare to become leaders who ensure that products and services meet performance standards and customer expectations in a wide range of industries. This program teaches problem-solving techniques to reduce waste, eliminate defects and reduce variation in any process.

With the growing focus on operational excellence in all industries, well-trained, critical thinking leaders are in high demand.

Additional program details: You will learn various inspection and testing methods, processes and techniques to identify defects or deviations from specifications. Quality methods are emphasized that reduce waste and improve business/manufacturing processes. Opportunities exist in a range of industries, including manufacturing, pharmaceutical, electronics and food processing.

Program Outcomes

• Apply Lean and Six Sigma Methodologies
• Apply statistical tools to drive process improvement and to characterize process performance and product and service quality
• Apply the tools of continuous improvement, problem solving, root cause analysis and corrective action
• Demonstrate quality audit principles
• Demonstrate measurement and inspection skills

With the increasing trend toward quality across all facets of business and the focus on reduction of waste and elimination of defects in any process, there is increased need for well-trained, critical thinking leaders. When students complete the Quality Engineering Technology degree, they possess the knowledge, skills and abilities to make their organization more efficient and effective.
