Quality Performance Measures | Iowa Department of Health and Human Services

Quality performance measures seek to measure the degree to which evidence-based treatment guidelines are followed, where indicated, and assess the results of care. The use of quality measurement helps strengthen accountability and support performance improvement initiatives at numerous levels. The Child Quality Performance Measures and the Adult Quality Performance Measures are two group measures that are used to demonstrate a variety of activities and health care outcomes for specific populations that fall under these two Quality Performance Measures groups.

• Adult Quality Performance Measures
  The Adult Quality Performance Measures were identified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) in partnership with the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ). The Adult Quality Performance Measures were compiled to address quality issues related to general adult health, maternal/ reproductive health, complex health care needs, and mental health and substance use.  The Adult Quality Performance Measures used in FFY2013 contains 26 measures.
