Reddit – Dive into anything

Hi I’ve been a canon user for over a decade now but with my new canon I realized that when taking vertical portrait photos, it gives you both a jpg and a cr2 photo (the jpg one is a little more thin) which further made me try to export the cr2 but as a modern zoomer I wanted to post it on Instagram which doesn’t allow cr2 files. So I went online to convert it and the color was super different and strange. Is there anyway I should figure out how to deal with this issue when trying to convert canon cr2 files to normal jpeg or png?

Edit: I’ve tried 6 online converters so far and the color is still extremely strange no matter which one I use.

Edit 2: I’ve figured out the most stupid fix for this issue. Upload your cr2 file/picture to google drive on pc/mac. Download google drive on your iPhone or Android. iPhone and Android both support cr2 files in the camera roll so then add the photo from google drive into the camera roll. Then legit just screen shot it. And it changes the file type without any color or quality adjustment. I hate myself for spending the last 3 hours trying 800 different methods. I am leaving this post here for anyone else who runs into this issue, although it may get removed by the mods
