HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
These were on sale at John Lewis from 2014, but we do not know for how long.
CONDITION
For those of us more familiar with Longines and TAG Heuer than Gucci or in this case Burberry, it is too easy to not look objectively. This Swiss watch has an original design, stainless steel case, signed buckle on the original alligator strap*, screw down crown, sapphire crystal, signed ETA 25 jewel calibre 2824-2 movement with hacking visible via the exhibition case back. The only two things missing are a long watch making heritage, and an inflated price tag.
The strap shows this has not been worn much. The wide bezel has high end influences from Patek Philippe’s Aquanaut or Piaget’s Polo S, but is still an original look. There are a few marks from careful wearing, most noticeably on the bezel, but nothing too off putting unless you want completely unworn watches (in which case you might want to look at new watches).
*Due to CITES regulations we are not able to ship the strap outside of the UK. We will instead fit a new leather strap.
