The Foundling and Other Tales of Prydain is an extra book written a few years later after the rest of The Prydain Chronicles. The stories actually take place during the time before the events of the other books and do not involve the main character, Taran. Lloyd Alexander wrote this book due to an overwelming demand for more stories about Prydain. The current versions of the book also includes the stories that were featured in the Prydain picture books, Coll and His White Pig and The Truthful Harp.
