THE IMPORTANCE OF QUALITY EDUCATION

Education plays a significant role in achievement of success. The knowledge gained in schools, colleges and other education institutions contributes towards shaping our future. The reason why schools and colleges impart knowledge is to make students a better citizen and a better human being while at the same time they provide all the guidance and possible education necessary for getting a good job with a decent income. Education helps in building careers and also broadens our vision and thought processes. Centuries ago, education was a key factor in the course of human life and not everybody had a right to quality education. Students saw their teachers as a source of knowledge and respected them and obeyed all the rules. The education provided by the teachers and the Gurukulas was also one of a kind. They learned all concepts thoroughly and most of the times, for free. However, with the changing times, the quality of education has also changed. Nowadays, the schools and colleges seem hell-bent upon doing good business rather than imparting good education. The level of competition has also gradually increased and this has led to the rise of coaching centers. With their being specialized institutions helping students to prepare for competitive exams such as CAT exam, GMAT exam etc. parents have started spending lavishly in such institutions in order to see their children succeed in the race of life. The quality of education has gone down tremendously. Something as essential as knowledge, which should be imparted for free and available to all, is now restricted to those who have the money for it. Villages have suffered tremendously with the government schools offering free education but absolutely no learning. Teachers have started taking teaching lightly and seem to impart knowledge and attend lectures only for the monthly allowance. The quality of education being imparted is essential as it’s what helps to shape the life of children. Students and parents devote their time and money in the educational institutions in order to learn new things and take part in competitive examinations but with the way high expenses are needed for high education to be obtained, it has caused a severe decline in the amount of people who genuinely receive proper facilities. Every career is dependent upon proper education but some rely more on them than ever. Particularly, the careers after class 12 th Science such as that of a doctor, surgeon etc. heavily rely on high quality education. But once again, the problem is the same. Only those with the means to pay for such careers excel in getting them while others who have the caliber and the skill often suffer due to the monetary aspect of things or due to inefficient staffs in government run education centers. Education, which is nowadays the fundamental of human life, is suffering because of the selfish needs and money mindedness of today’s generation. If only it was made available to all irrespective of their class, could a welcomed change be brought about. With hard working teachers and equally determined students, our country’s success rate would definitely prosper if high quality education was provided in all educational centers.
