Adidas is one of the most famous sports brands globally, but can you answer the question: where is Adidas made?
Adidas was founded in Germany in 1924, but only in 1949 adopt the Adidas name. Everyone had at least one Adidas product in their life, from footwear to clothes or accessories. This is how big this sports brand is. Only Nike surpasses Adidas when it comes to sportswear manufacturing.
I am a big Adidas fan (I have worked for them, but I still like to think I am impartial), and I have always loved their sneakers and running t-shirts.
Since I was sure most products from the three stripes company wouldn’t be made in Germany, I have decided to review hundreds of product descriptions on Adidas’s website to verify if the brand lists where the products are made. I also visited a couple of Adidas stores and some stores that sell Adidas products, checking multiple items. So let’s find out where Adidas is manufactured.

Where Is Adidas Made?
Currently, Adidas manufactures in 48 countries in 2021, with most of its production being made in China, Vietnam, and Indonesia.

Some other countries where Adidas manufactures are Argentina, Austria, Bangladesh, Belgium, Brazil, Cambodia, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, El Salvador, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Honduras, Hungary, India, Italy, Japan, Jordania, Korea, Lesotho, Lithuania, Madagascar, Mauritius, Mexico, Myanmar, Nicaragua, Pakistan, Philipines, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, United States, and the United Kingdom.
Usually, I have a problem when brands don’t state the country of origin on their website, and you have to wait to receive the physical product to check it. However, in Adidas’s case, even if I still would like the German sports brand to put that information on every product description, I am not that bothered. Why? Because they literally state their entire factory list, with the countries, addresses, and what they manufacture on each factory on their website.

Adidas is not trying to hide where its products are made, but they don’t tell you unless you ask. Nothing wrong with that, and still much better than certain brands that don’t put the information anywhere on the internet, and you will only find out where the products are made when you receive them since the US legislation and EU rules require the brands to tell the country of origin for any imported products when it comes to physical goods.
Adidas outsources most of its production to independent contractors, so this doesn’t mean that if a country has 50 factories, they exclusively manufacture Adidas, or that factory belongs to Adidas.

It’s not a surprise that many Adidas products are manufactured in China since the labor and materials are cheaper there than in Europe. However, in the last decade, Adidas has been shifting its product manufacturing from China to Vietnam.
China still has more factories/independent contractors than Vietnam, but that can change in the next decade. Vietnam can be the number one manufacturing country for Adidas and other sportive brands like Nike , Puma, Converse, and Reebok. Skechers manufactures its shoes between China and Vietnam, so the shift is happening there already.
Many brands are shifting their manufacturing to other countries that are not China because their yearly average manufacturing wages have increased by 80 percent since 2010 (it’s still cheap, but not as cheap as a decade ago). Southeast Asia is a region where big fashion brands are opening more factories or making agreements with independent manufacturers due to cheaper labor and materials.
Is Adidas Made In Vietnam?
Yes, Adidas manufactures many of its products in Vietnam, including apparel, accessories, footwear, and gear.
